Inspired by Frida Nilsson’s acclaimed Swedish novel The Ice Sea Pirates and the haunting music of Scandinavian artist AURORA.
When Siri’s little sister Miki is kidnapped by the fearsome Captain Whitehead and taken aboard the White Crow, Siri sets out alone across the frozen Ice Sea to bring her home.
Through a world of ice and snow, wolves, mysterious creatures, and people who have lost their courage, Siri must face something even greater: the shadows of her own fears.
Winter Bird is a visually striking story of courage, friendship, loneliness, hope, and the unbreakable bond between sisters.
Blending physical theatre, shadow theatre, puppetry, theatre of hands, and contemporary Scandinavian music, the performance invites audiences into a magical frozen world where even the smallest person can find the courage to face the impossible.
